USCGC JUNIPER (WLB-201)

Lieutenant Commander Bonner assumed command of CGC JUNIPER in June 2022. He previously served as the Executive Officer of USCGC WALNUT (WLB-205) homeported in Honolulu, Hawaii, Commanding Officer of USCGC BLUEFIN (WPB-87318) homeported in Fort Pierce, FL and Deck Watch Officer on USCGC ELM (WLB-204) out of Atlantic Beach, NC. His staff assignments include serving as the Foxtrot Company Officer and Regimental Operations Officer at the United States Coast Guard Academy and Seamanship and Navigation instructor at the United States Naval Academy, where he served as course coordinator of NN210 – Basic Navigation, supervising 10 US Navy and international military instructors in execution of a course servicing over 1000 midshipmen annually.

LCDR Bonner is originally from Ashaway, RI. He graduated with honors from the US Coast Guard Academy in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and received a Master’s degree in Leadership Education and Development from George Washington University. LCDR Bonner's military awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Coast Guard Achievement Medal.

Lieutenant Drew Stafford is currently the Executive Officer on board CGC JUNIPER (WLB-201) in Honolulu, HI. With a crew of 49, CGC JUNIPER is responsible for aids to navigation, international fisheries enforcement, foreign service partnerships, and humanitarian aid throughout the South Pacific.

Prior to being stationed in Hawaii, LT Stafford lived in Juneau, AK and served as the patrol boat manager in the domestic fisheries division, and a Law Enforcement Duty Officer at D17 (dre).

Previous afloat assignments include Commanding Officer of CGC SWORDFISH (WPB 87358) in Port Angeles, WA, and Operations Officer of CGC CUSHING (WPB 1321) and CGC RICHARD DIXON (WPC 1113) in San Juan, PR.

Drew Stafford was born and raised in Buffalo, Wyoming and graduated the Coast Guard Academy in May of 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He and his wife are avid outdoor enthusiasts and who enjoy backpacking, hunting, fishing, rock climbing, and skiing. His personal awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, and the military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

Chief Petty Officer Rolgie June F. Tangalan assumed the duties of JUNIPER’s Auxiliary Shop Chief and Command Chief in June 2023.

Chief Petty Officer Tangalan was born and raised on the island of Guam, USA, and enlisted with the United States Coast Guard in May 2007. His Personnel awards include four Coast Guard Achievement Medals and four Good Conduct awards. In addition to personal and unit awards, he has also earned his Permanent Cutterman’s Insignia.
