Command Cadre


LT Brenden Kelley graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. His initial assignment was as a Student Engineer aboard USCGC RUSH (WHEC 723) in Honolulu, HI. He was next assigned to Base Seattle, Washington as Deputy Facility Manager. During his most recent assignment, LT Kelley served as the Operations Officer aboard USCGC DOUGLAS MUNRO (WHEC 724). In that role, he oversaw the scheduling, operations performance, and mission execution for the cutter. LT Kelley assumed the duties of the Commanding Officer of USCGC KISKA (WPB 1336) in June 2018.
His personal awards include one Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, one Commandant’s Letter of Achievement Ribbon, and one Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon.
LT Kelley is a native of Belvidere, New Jersey where he graduated from Mountain Trail Christian Academy in 2007. His favorite hobbies include fishing, hunting, diving, boating, and traveling with his family.
