An U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak member and his wife welcomed their son Percival, the micro preemie, to the world at only 22 weeks and 2 days gestation last January. “The youngest baby ever to survive was about 21 weeks and 4 days. We were told Percival was about the 5th youngest baby ever to be born in Alaska...”- Courtney, Percival's mother. The family has since moved to U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod and Percival is getting stronger each day. Operation SHRIMP and GRITS, which stands for "Save Harbor Reach on Intelligence for Multi-state Partnerships and Guarding Responsible Interests for Target Safety" focused on the education and enforcement of boating safety and maritime security throughout the Southeast.
