Chief Stidman was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He currently lives in Phoenix, AZ with his family. Chief Stidman has been in the Coast Guard Reserves since 2006. He started his Coast Guard career as a Reservist at Station San Diego and then transferred to Sector San Diego Enforcement after a few years. After leaving San Diego, Chief Stidman was stationed at MSST Miami, MSU Port Arthur, PSU 305, Station Annapolis, and then transferred back to Sector San Diego Enforcement Division in August 2016. Chief Stidman has been mobilized several times in his career: Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, 58th Presidential Inauguration, and most recently the 2017 Hurricane response.
In the civilian world, Chief Stidman works as a Contract Polygraph Examiner with Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Prior to his current position, Chief Stidman was employed as a Special Agent/ Criminal Investigator with the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) and a Special Agent/ Counterintelligence Investigator with the Department of Defense (DoD).
Chief Stidman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce, Education, and Development in Training from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a Master of Arts Degree in Human Behavior, Psychology from National University, a Master of Arts Degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University, and a Graduate Certificate in Psychophysiological Detection of Deception from the National Center for Credibility Assessment.
