Senior Chief Glenn G. Delmendo
Senior Chief Glenn Delmendo serves as the Reserve Command Silver Badge for Sector San Diego. He is the principal advisor to the Captain of Sector San Diego on all reserve enlisted matters. His responsibilities include providing the Captain with the reserve enlisted perspective on strategic vision, goals, objectives, and enlisted professional development. Additionally, he is responsible for mentoring reserve Enlisted Leaders in the Sector as well as matters pertaining to the command’s mission, vision, core values, and commander’s intent and reserve enlisted utilization.
Senior Chief Delmendo started his enlisted Active Duty military career in 1991 and served aboard the Coast Guard Cutters Blackhaw (WLB-390) and Buttonwood (WLB-306) out of Yerba Buena Island, San Francisco, California. After advancing to BM3, he transferred to Station Los Angeles/ Long Beach and served as a 41ft UTB, 25 ft. RBS, and 23 ft. coxswain. In 1995, he became a member of the Reserves and served at PSU 311.
Senior Chief Delmendo was recalled to Active Duty during 9-11, the Iraq War, and for the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Most recently, Senior Chief Delmendo took on the challenge as the Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor (SERA) for Station Honolulu while living and working in Los Angeles, California.
In his civilian life, Senior Chief Delmendo is a Sergeant for the El Segundo Police Department in California. He has served as a patrol officer, motor officer, detective, SWAT team leader, honor guard, and currently a Watch Commander for patrol.
Senior Chief Delmendo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University.
